Month by month, we'll help you make good on your New Year's resolution once and for all.

Quitting takes practice. Everybody knows that quitting tobacco is not easy. On average, it takes 11 attempts to successfully quit. Lots of people in the military successfully quit tobacco each year.

Get the help you need. Your chances of successfully quitting tobacco go way up if you get help. Learn about medicines that can help you quit smoking or chewing tobacco. Find a tobacco cessation training near you. Create your own quit plan and chat one-on-one with a trained Cessation Coach.

You know why you want to quit. Let us help you with the how. The only thing you must have in order to successfully quit tobacco is the desire to quit. Everything else is based on that. Now that you want to quit, here’s how to start quitting!

Need motivation and support to help you beat the cravings? Sign up to receive weekly text messages to your phone to help you quit smoking or chewing tobacco for good. Our text messages will offer advice and tips on how to resist the cravings, boost your resolve, and encourage you to stay quit.

Create a Quit Blog

Create a profile and start your own quit blog. Use the quit blog to chronicle your adventures in becoming tobacco free and record your day-to-day experiences. Check out other people’s blogs and see how they are coping.

Become a Fan on Facebook or a Friend on MySpace, and Follow Us on Twitter

Check us out on Facebook, MySpace and Twitter to help you stay tobacco free, connect with others who are also quitting, and receive important tobacco news. Use our I Quit Tobacco application to let your friends and family know you quit tobacco or to congratulate others for their quit efforts.

Post Your Resolution to Quit

Tell us about it! If you want to tell everybody about your New Year’s resolution to quit smoking or chewing, post your intention on our bulletin board and commit to quit!

Send E-cards and Post Banners

Let others know that you’re quitting tobacco by posting a banner on your social networking profile. Send e-cards to tell your family and friends that you’re quitting smoking or chewing tobacco and to ask for their support.

New Year's artwork is available here for download and use in any publication, print or online, including your installation newspaper. Please send to your PAO or Webmaster.

We’ve posted MP3s of public service announcements (PSAs) about the QTMEP New Year’s Resolution campaign. These PSAs were distributed to local radio stations surrounding many domestic U.S. military installations.
