Veterans Affairs of Puget Sound Health Care System researchers report that adding smoking cessation treatment to regular care of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) increased quit rates among military veterans. Cessation intervention did not adversely affect psychiatric status, and PTSD severity improved by 10% in both the treatment and control groups.
