According to a new study, smoking cessation, after myocardial infarction resulting in left ventricular dysfunction, lowers all-cause death risk more than many drug interventions. Smoking cessation was also associated with lower risk of other measured end points: death or recurrent MI and death or heart failure hospitalization.
