Breast Cancer Awareness Month Coming; Smoking Seen As a Leading Cause

Researchers from New York's Albert Einstein College of Medicine examined the association between cigarette smoking and incidence of breast cancer. Long term smoking, at least one pack of cigarettes a day for 40 years or at least two packs a day for 20 years, put women at a 60 to 83 percent higher risk of breast cancer than women who had never smoked.
