The Surgeon General of the United States Air Force has issued a memo alerting all Airmen about safety concerns regarding electronic cigarettes. Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Charles B. Green states that samples tested by the FDA showed that e-cigarettes contained cancer-causing agents. As yet there are no health warnings on these products. He added that no studies have demonstrated the safety or effectiveness of these products as tobacco cessation aids, and they are not approved by the FDA as a drug delivery device.
