The American Cancer Society (ACS) and LIVESTRONG® released a study showing cancer is now the most economically crippling disease in the world, costing more in lost productivity and lives than any other illness. If current trends continue, tobacco will kill 8 million people per year by 2030. About one third of those deaths will be from cancer. Unfortunately, tobacco kills thousands of nonsmokers every year as well – among them an estimated 200,000 who are exposed to it in the workplace.
