Officials with the United Kingdom's Royal College of General Practitioners claim that parents who smoke near their children at home or in cars are committing a form of child abuse. Sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) is linked to mothers smoking while pregnant and evidence shows that more children are killed from the effects of parental smoking than by accidents.
