Big Decline in Heart Attacks If All States Had Smoking Bans
5/21/2010

Researchers at Henry Ford Hospital Cardiac Imaging Research, in Detroit, Michigan, report that Americans would suffer 18,000 fewer heart attacks per year and save millions in health costs if every state had a public smoking ban. Currently, 39 states have some type of public smoking ban, with 26 banning smoking in any enclosed public space. Eleven states have no bans at all.
