This year alone more than 35,000 Americans will be diagnosed with oral cancer. Most of these individuals will be tobacco users of some kind -- smokers, former smokers, or smokeless tobacco users. Smoking and drinking together, especially when both are done in above-average quantities, markedly increase the chances of contracting oral cancer.
