The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that lung cancer has surpassed breast cancer as the leading cause of cancer deaths in women. In all, 26 percent of all female deaths in the U.S. are lung cancer-related. Eighty percent of lung cancer deaths in women are due to smoking, and smokers are 10 to 20 times more likely to develop lung cancer.
