In a study of cancer survivors, more than a quarter who smoke did not receive any advice about quitting from their healthcare provider. The vast majority of all study participants said they had visited their healthcare provider in the last year, but fewer than half had been asked about their smoking habits. Most of the current smokers said they wanted to quit smoking.
