A new federally funded study by Virginia Commonwealth University shows that the newer smokeless and so-called reduced harm products that tobacco companies are betting on may not be as good at helping smokers quit as the industry hopes. Snus, as well as powdered tobacco tablets, and nicotine lozenges do not ease smokers' cravings for nicotine as well as cigarettes do, according to the study.
