Secondhand Smoke May Double Likelihood of Depression
3/5/2009

According to a report presented at the American Psychosomatic Society meeting in Chicago, IL, secondhand smoke (SHS) not only can harm the lungs, but it can also darken people's moods. Nonsmokers exposed to cigarette smoke at home or work are more than twice as likely as those not exposed to have major depression. Even working where smoking was allowed in public places more than doubled the risk of depression.
