Smokers' Brain Power Declines Faster With Age

Smokers lose cognitive function by middle age faster than their non-smoking peers. Researchers in The Netherlands found that giving up smoking at any age may prevent further smoking-induced cognitive decline. Since there is currently no treatment that will stop the progress of dementia, identifying ways to help prevent mental decline is critical.
