Research indicates that secondhand smoke can be harmful to family pets as well as humans. In the United States, nearly twice as many households have pets than have children younger than age 18 years. Veterinarians, pet store employees, groomers, pet food suppliers, and pet product vendors may have a role in explaining the harmful effects of ETS exposure to pets.
