The negative consequences of smoking are not only health-related. According to surveys, smoking can be viewed by management as a sign of weakness and can result in workers being labeled as "smokers." On the personal hygiene front, smokers often retain the smell of stale cigarettes in their hair and clothing, making them less than appealing to coworkers, supervisors, and clients alike.
