A Harvard School of Public Health study determined that a person's odds of suffering a stroke might be significantly
reduced by maintaining an overall healthy lifestyle, which
includes being a nonsmoker. The researchers also found that the low-risk, smoke-free lifestyle lowered the risk of multiple chronic diseases, such as diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
