Smoking and Metals Linked to Delayed Pregnancies

Higher blood levels of the toxic metal cadmium in females, and higher blood levels of lead in males can delay pregnancy in those trying to have a baby. Smokers are estimated to have twice the levels of cadmium as do non-smokers; exposure also occurs in some workplaces.
