Study Shows Nicotine Replacement Therapies May Not Help People Quit Smoking

Both heavy and light smokers who quit using nicotine replacement therapy such as nicotine patches, gum, inhaler, or nasal spray were just as likely to smoke again as those who quit “cold turkey.” Other research has found nicotine replacement products to be effective for treating tobacco dependence.
