The San Francisco Board of Supervisors voted to make the city the first in the nation to ban the sale of tobacco products at most pharmacies. The American Lung Association and other health organizations have lobbied pharmacies across the country for voluntary bans and applaud the action in San Francisco. Lawmakers voting against the measure said they felt that large pharmacy stores were unfairly singled out by the ban.
