A U.K. National Health Service study determined that where one lives, how old they are, and whether they are male or female all affect chances of giving up smoking. The study found that older smokers are more likely than younger smokers to successfully quit, some men appear to be more successful at quitting than women, and more disadvantaged groups face greater challenges when giving up smoking.
