Smokers Show Higher Risk of Leg Artery Disease

According to a University of Switzerland hospital study, women who smoke are much more likely than nonsmokers to develop clogged arteries in their legs. Quitting can lower those odds. Female smokers were up to 17 times more likely than non-smokers to develop peripheral artery disease (PAD).
