Experts say problems such as smoking, obesity, and misinformation continue to plague West Virginia's pregnant women. In 2007, the WV Department of Health and Human Resources' Health Statistics Center reported more than a fourth of pregnant women in West Virginia smoked during pregnancy. It was the highest rate in the country.
